From the moment we are born, and we are separated from the oneness with our mother, we long to reconnect.
We long to connect with family, friends, nature and the oneness of the world. Some argue that the meaning behind the Judeo- Christian story of the “Fall” is actually a story about broken relationships; man’s relation with man, with or herself, with nature, and with God.
I say we are born with “A Passion for Connection.”
We connect with each other in many ways, one on one, one to many ( like a broadcast), or many to many the way groups interact online. Whether the traditional face to face interaction or using tools we create like the phone, radio, television or the internet, we learn how to connect with others.
We Connect by communicating in many ways.
We communicate by nonverbally through body gestures, touch and dance. We communicate visually and we communicate through sound with our voice and music.
The tools we use to connect are less important than the fact that we do connect. We establish and nurture relationships. In our humanity, we are separate , yet we long to belong. The internet, just a conduit, allows us to connect is ways that we have never seen before. In the past, location mattered. Today through the internet, we can meet and interact with people all over the world. We connect along topics that are important to us. We can build strong healthy relationships. We can reconnect with the world.
These are the topics of this blog, “A Passion for Connection”
